5 Benefits When You Use the New eFASS Application Portal To Apply For Long-Term Care Schemes

28 Sep 2020

As part of the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)’s efforts to streamline the application process for long-term care schemes, the eServices for Financing Schemes (eFASS) application portal has been launched on 1 October 2020! Patients and caregivers can now apply for, and manage their long-term care schemes online.

What else is great about the eFASS portal? Here are the top five benefits this new platform provides.

1. Ease Of Application

In the past, many care schemes required a physical form to be submitted. With the application portal, you can cut down on the paperwork to complete the online application for any long-term care schemes for yourself, or as a caregiver.

If you are applying for yourself, the system will also automatically check and show you the schemes you might be eligible for. (Further schemes eligibility checks will be done after an application is submitted.)

2. Convenient & Secure Login

The application portal provides a secure login process through the commonly used Singpass system, which relies on a Two-Step Verification Process and a One-Time Password (OTP). Hence, you don’t need to create an additional account to access eFASS.

Or, you may download the Singpass Mobile application, which lets you log in quickly without the need for an OTP.

3. User-Friendly Interface

To facilitate the application process, there is a step-by-step guide with clear instructions for users. This ensures that everyone will be clear on the next step, and what to do in order to complete the application.

On top of that, there’s a ‘Save Draft’ function that allows users to save application drafts, giving you the time to collate the information required to complete your application.

4. Management Of Application & Schemes

If any follow-up action is required from you, the portal will prompt you on what you need to do next.

You are also able to update the details of your or your loved one’s schemes such as the nominated bank account that is receiving payouts.

5. Full Overview Of Your Applications

The user-friendly interface on eFASS includes a dashboard that provides an overview of all your active schemes. You can also follow up on any outstanding tasks relating to your application or change request and apply for new schemes via the overview page.
